Marc Förster

lives in Berlin and Aix-la-Chapelle/Aquisgrán/Aachen.



studied software engineering in Potsdam and Madrid, specialising in computer graphics and dependability engineering.

worked as a research associate and consultant for the Fraunhofer-Institut für Experimentelles Software-Engineering, after writing his Master’s thesis there.

works at the RWTH Embedded Software Lab. His research interests include virtual engineering and analysis of software-controlled systems as well as modular dependability models and their visualisation, supporting the model-based development of safe, adaptive/open component systems.

is serving as publicity co-chair for the ISSRE 2011 conference. If you are active in the field of dependability of software and software-controlled systems—in industry, research or as a student—do feel invited to submit a paper!

also holds a university degree in strategic communication planning. He is fluent in German, Spanish, English and Java, but needs to practise French more.
